For Pier Giorgio Frassati, Jesus wasn’t a distant  figure from history or someone to call on  only in tough times.  He was a close friend,  a traveling companion,  the center of his life.  In every decision,  every challenge, every joy, Pier Giorgio felt his  constant presence.  That certainty gave him  deep confidence: whatever happens, I'm not alone.

The Gospel tells us that  Jesus once asked his disciples: “Who do you say  that I am?” (Mt 16:15).  Pier Giorgio had no doubts. For him, Jesus was  someone who walked  beside him, giving meaning  to his dreams and holding  him up in his struggles.  Faith wasn’t a burden or a set of rules: it was a living,  transformative relationship.

Food for thought:

What's your answer to Jesus' question for his disciples? Who is Jesus to you?

When you think about your future (your plans, your choices...) do you leave  space for God? Sometimes  it seems like following Him means giving up what you love or being asked for something too big.  But the truth is that Jesus isn’t waiting on the sidelines to “complicate” your life. He’s walking with you so you can live it deeply and joyfully.

Vocation isn’t a decision you make once and forget about.  It’s an invitation to walk  with Jesus every day,  letting his gaze transform  the way you see things.  It’s discovering that the  life you live now can be shared with Him.  It’s letting his presence change the small stuff:  a study session, a chat with a friend, a career choice.

When you trust Him and  give Him space in your plans, you discover that vocation isn’t a strict, perfectly defined plan. It’s the path that answers your deepest longing for happiness.  God, who created you,  knows better than anyone how to fill your life with meaning. He doesn’t call  you to be someone else.  He calls you to be  fully yourself.

how can you make sure you're living with Jesus?

Make it personal.  Take some time to think  about how you see Jesus  right now. Is He a friend?  An acquaintance?  Put it into words, and maybe even write it down, so you  can come back to it later.

Stay close. If you want Jesus to be your friend, talk to Him like one. Tell Him what's on your mind today: your hopes, worries, and little things you care about.

Build the habit. Find one concrete way to make Him part of your daily routine. Maybe a quick visit to the chapel after class, if your school has one; reading a  few lines from the Gospel before bed, or a saying  short prayer before  starting your day.
